[Devel] New CD image pr34
(For the first time in english to make it understandable for our
international crew. :)
I've make a new CD image, prerelease 34. It is available from
<URL:ftp://developer.skolelinux.no/skolelinux-cd/>. The image size is
650 MiB.
Major changes since the previous image:
- Upgraded the kernel from 2.4.19 to 2.4.20.
- Fixed LVM initialisation on SCSI-machines
- Now devfs is enabled by install ing and configuring devfsd.
- Remade our own php4 packages to get them to use debconf.
- Several changes to the first stage installer (debian-installer)
- I probably forgot something.
I have testet that the CD is bootable and installable using VMWare.
A list of known bugs is available from

The following configuration for server and LTSP-server should work out
of the box:
- NTP
- DNS
- SSH
- DHCP
- NFS/SMB
- LDAP
- Apache
- Squid
- CUPS
- LTSP
- Webmin
The following services do not work as they should:
- SMTP/POP/etc (Limacute missing configuration)
- cfengine (need netgroups, ie LDAP or NIS)
- Backup (no one has worked on it)
- SQL-tjener (will not install automatically)
- ez publish (no one has worked on it)
- Appletalk (no one has worked on it)
- User administration (unfinished implementation)
Test it and find out more. :-)
The disk usage for the different profiles (in KiB) is as follows.
Please take the numbers with a small grain of salt.

All in all there are 789 packages on the CD. Since the last time
there has been 19 packages added, 67 packages changed/upgraded and 16

content of /dev/. I give up on this hacking, and start using devfs
with devfsd instead. Increase size of area to wipe out on the LVM
partition to get rid of the LVM headers. 1k was not always enough.
Using 100k this time.
