[Devel] New CD image prerelease 37 (pr37)
I've make a new CD image, prerelease 37. It is available from
<URL:ftp://developer.skolelinux.no/skolelinux-cd/>. The image size is
650 MiB.
Major changes since the previous image:
- In first stage installer (debian-installer):
- Changed frontend from slang to newt. This one got progress bar
support. [Debian/Petter]
- Enable translations. [Debian/Gaute/Bjørn/Petter]
- Added some extra tools for use in manual installation. [Petter]
- Enable correct keyboard layout. [Debian/Petter]
- Fixed webmin-ldap-skolelinux to handle 8-bit characters. [Rune]
- First try on standalone package profile. [Helge/Siv]
- Cleanup in the skolelinux-spesific packages.
- Updated kernel images to the latest from Debian/Sid. [Petter]
- Security updated to file. [Debian]
- I probably forgot something.
I have testet that the CD is bootable and installable using VMWare.
A list of known bugs is available from <URL:http://bugs.skolelinux.no/>.
The following configuration for server and LTSP-server should work out
of the box:
- Apache
- CUPS
- DHCP
- DNS
- LDAP
- LTSP
- NFS/SMB
- NTP
- SMTP/IMAP
- SSH
- Squid
- Webmin
The following services do not work as they should:
- cfengine (need netgroups, ie LDAP or NIS)
- Backup (no one has worked on it)
- SQL-tjener (will not install automatically)
- ez publish (no one has worked on it)
- Appletalk (no one has worked on it)
- User administration (unfinished implementation)
Test it and find out more. :-)
The disk usage for the different profiles (in KiB) is as follows.
Please take the numbers with a small grain of salt.

All in all there are 788 packages on the CD. Since the last time
there has been 14 packages added, 56 packages changed/upgraded and 2
packages removed. The defaults is at the end of this email, and

Several packages are dropped either from our profiler, or from the CD.
