[Devel] New CD image prerelease 36 (pr36)
I've make a new CD image, prerelease 36. It is available from
<URL:ftp://developer.skolelinux.no/skolelinux-cd/>. The image size is
650 MiB.
Major changes since the previous image:
- The post office should now be working (internally) [Andreas].
- Fixed but in installer failing to handle more then one IDE or SCSI
hard drive [Petter].
- Fixed bug in installer swaping the CD drives in machines with more
then one CD drive [Petter].
- Enabled NAT-ing on LTSP servers between the LTSP network at the
rest of the net [Ragnar].
- Rewrote cfengine-skolelinux to make it easier to include changed
configuration files in upgrades [Petter, Andreas, Ragnar, etc].
- Only initialize LVM of first time install, and not every time
base-config is executed [Petter]
- Enabled X font server by default on LTSP [Ragnar].
- Added packages to get PXE support in LTSP [Rune, Ragnar].
- Include more tests in /usr/sbin/skolelinux-test-install [Petter].
- Started on code to generate SSL certificate for LDAP over SSL [Rune].
- Enabled LDAP/SSL by default (but not used by PAM/NSS yet) [Rune].
- Added nynorsk spell checker for OpenOffice.org [Gaute].
- Now sets hostname based on current eth0 IP at boot time (on
non-servers) [Petter]
- Add code to detect and avoid one user logging in several times on
the same host, enabled if /etc/skolelinux/limit-logins
exists. [Klaus, Petter]
- New package kwebmin to make webmin available in the KDE [Morten].
- Lots of improvements to the new installer. [Debian, Petter, Tollef]
- Removed all backup, php4 and usb software, and part of XFree86
3.3.6 because the other packages on the CD started using more
space. [Well, who is to blame?]
- Security fixes for CUPS and tcpdump [Debian].
- I probably forgot something.
I have testet that the CD is bootable and installable using VMWare.

The following configuration for server and LTSP-server should work out
of the box:
- Apache
- CUPS
- DHCP
- DNS
- LDAP
- LTSP
- NFS/SMB
- NTP
- SMTP/IMAP
- SSH
- Squid
- Webmin
The following services do not work as they should:
- cfengine (need netgroups, ie LDAP or NIS)
- Backup (no one has worked on it)
- SQL-tjener (will not install automatically)
- ez publish (no one has worked on it)
- Appletalk (no one has worked on it)
- User administration (unfinished implementation)
Test it and find out more. :-)
The disk usage for the different profiles (in KiB) is as follows.
Please take the numbers with a small grain of salt.

there has been 23 packages added, 74 packages changed/upgraded and 30
