• create a broken array, with md1, md5, md6, and save array config

• edit /mnt/etc/mkinitrd/mkinitrd.conf, to set a delay of 20 sec
• create new initrd, with raid support

mkinitrd -d /mnt/etc/mkinitrd -r /dev/md1 -o /mnt/boot/initrd.img-2.4.26-1-686-smp

• edit /boot/grub/

• reboot into md, this should normally take about 150 secs.
• change partition types on sda
• add the devices from sda to the runnig md-devices
• edit /mnt/etc/kernel-img.conf to use sumlinks, and not to run update-grub on new kernel-installs
• edit /boot/grub
• reboot
