Upgrading from SL39, and turning on encryption on the way I started with a stock pr39, added 4 users, with 3 different groups, and sent an email to one of them. I took backup of /etc from tjener, and from ltsp-server-00 First upgradeing the tjener then apt-get dist-upgrade ldap 127.0.0.1 set as ldap-server ou=People, dc....dc=no as DN ldap version 3 _do_not_ make local rootdb admin db requires logging in: no Change dhcpd.conf to a new verion (without "-") Removed whiptail, as it has some dependencies that are not satisfied Logged in without problems tjener is rebooted. Unable to authenticate from ltspserver00 doing an update/dist-upgrade of ltspserver00 one problem is that /var ran full on the tjener (due squid_cache) unset http_proxy, and then things went fine kdm set as defauilt display manager ldap 127.0.0.1 set as ldap-server ou=People, dc....dc=no as DN ldap version 3 _do_not_ make local rootdb admin db requires logging in: no keep the default dictinaries :( removing whiptail :( rebooting ltspserver00 okay - now everything works.
