How to process and translate the Skolelinux handbook

At the moment (2003-09-07), the process is being modified.  This
document describe the goal, not the current status.


The master document is the English DocBook XML source,
IKT-bok.en.sgml.  This document is processed into a .pot file, raw
file for when comparing the translation files.  The translators
maintain separate .po files for each language, and this .po file is
combined with the master document to produce the translated XML
documents.

The translation files need to be complete to be able to generate a
working XML file.

The XML documents are processed to generate the HTML, PDF and
Postscript versions of the document.


At the moment (2003-09-07), we maintain several XML versions, one for
each translation.  These versions need to be updated to match the
English master document before the translators .po can be generated.
In addition, the master document should be completely translated into
English.
